With all I liked about ETSG when I first got my 1st SG in 2012, I found great members like Col Mustard AND I found resources like this to learn about these guitars.

I just found this today as I was hunting specs on a 1999 SG Supreme.

My first good electric guitar was a 1961 LPSG Standard little did I know burst fingerboard real PAF pickups feather weight
compared to my Les Paul Custom for ten years I only played the two guitars then my guitar teacher most the songs you play
were done on a Fender guitar found a great 1961 custom colored Stratocaster my 1961 LPSG fingerboard was warn out
I didn't know it could be replaced back then sold the husk 2016 back room of my local music store seen a old SG case asked
if I could check it out it's in for an appraisal estate sale I plugged it in to a old Fender Deluxe Reverb rang like a bell
serial number 1965 pots date first week 1965 but the guitar 1964 spec. and gold hardware never seen that on a SG Standard
I put a bid on it Keith that owns the music store has been my sound man since 1984 Keith called I won the bid
the frets were trashed neck was twisted I called Mike Lull he wanted $3200.00 to restore it plus $1000.00 shipping
Mike did top notch work I ordered the tools and did it myself it cost more but I learned the former owner did inlays on the head stock
and body I had to remove and replace the holly wood veneer and the Royalite binding was a chore big thanks to Bartlett guitars
the gold pickups are 1958 PAF sounds killer happy ending.

It was Permissiontoland.

He had asked about me helping him, but I was traveling extensively for work at the time. Unfortunately, he couldn't use the thread that Javamagic and I posted a ton of info regarding bevel and horn shapes because Photobucket changed their policies, and many photos were lost to oblivion.

I do love SGs and I have had I think 6 of them over the years. I don't own any at the moment (Sorry Col.) because I happen to love Les Pauls more.
But (and there's always a but) I have been thinking maybe I need on the of the models that has a wang bar on it since I don't have one on any of my Les Pauls.

I had an opportunity a few years back to get a white, '80s era SG Elite that had the factory installed, Gibson-stamped Kahler trem on it.

Can you believe I passed it up!

Stupid, I know...
