Now I know why you are a salesman, Esgee,,,,,,,,,,,,, You sure can cut thru the BS and make up your own.

Having been an Entwistle fan all my life and seeing him play his Alembic, I still love his Fender P or Jazz era even more.

Try a Dean the USA made stuff is stellar ---
or hey How about a Warwick --

;)

expand your horizons Ball man :)

I haven't played one in years but I am certain the USA ones are killer. The only one that does it for me looks-wise is the Dean Z, which is a rip of an Explorer. They're a little on the spendy side but I wouldn't rule one out.

The thing I like about the Heritage guitars is that something like an H-150 is a form factor that I know and love so well, and they have a very cool history and direct tie to the original Les Pauls (arguably a more direct tie to them than even Gibson) for what I consider to be extremely reasonable money.

with a DEAN USA pup---- oh the HORROR -- anyone got the new guy at Gibbos email address---Id like to send him a pic ;)

Yup, that is a sweet H-150.

I'm surprised they don't get more love - from me or others. Honestly it is shocking to me that I don't own at least one. They are basically close to Gibson Custom Shop quality for about Gibson USA money, and every 150 I have played has the fat 50's style neck that everyone seems to prefer.

Yeah, a local (to me) shop carries them...I’ve come close, but was never willing to throw down the asking price for one. The shop owner is a tough cookie, and will sit on things forever...
I’ve played some that were cool, and some that didn’t float my boat....all necks that I tried were excellent...what didn’t float my boat on a few were the pickups, and electronics....they weren’t bad...they just didn’t fill me with the willingness to fork up a couple grand.
I’ve changed since then though, and feel like I’ve grown a bit in my use of controls. I’ve also found some pickups that I could picture liking in the Heritage offerings.
If he was asking around $400 less, I’d own one now.

That's actually pretty funny to me since Heritage guitars come with Seymour Duncan pickups and I have never liked Seymour Duncan pickups, haha. I always figured if I got one I would drop in some Gibson or DiMarzio pickups (yes, Larry DiMarzio is a dick about the double-cream thing but his PAF-style pickups sound incredible).

Heritage doesn't get sued by Gibson since Heritage has more Gibson DNA than Gibson does! Definitely Custom shop at Gibbo's USA pricing

I also believe they had a gentlemen's agreement with those guys that started Heritage. They were long-time employees who for whatever reason couldn't uproot their families and move to Tennessee, so since they changed the headstock so radically I think Gibson basically just looked the other way and let them keep on earning a living. It's not like Heritage was ever going to be a major force in the market.

Exactly!
I used to be a fan of the Seth Lover pickups....but not so much the JB/59 combinations seen so often.
The Heritage guitars I tried had that “something” that I knew could be fixed with a couple bucks in pickups, and a soldering iron...I couldn’t justify the Les Paul Standard(or Traditional) pricing if I was going to dump cash and time to make it sound the way my other guitars of that style sound already.
I might think about it again though...

The only ones I have ever liked were the Whole Lotta Humbuckers that a buddy of mine had in one of his guitars. They were sweet but if I recall very expensive.
