Ha Ha… (USA) Hamer's quality of hand-made guitars put Gibson to shame when it was around. I'm very grateful for the three Hamers I own!

Gibson suing for head stock shapes that are not close enough to warrant. Also, ignoring the budget brands, hoping to cash in on slightly larger brands for as better paycheck. But then, they've always resorted to that tactic. My opinion is just make a better guitar.

How ironic that Gibson jumped on the Slash bandwagon all these years, mainly because of the Appetite For Destruction album success, and Slash's use of a Les Paul: A non-Gibson LP that was made by Kris Derrig!!!!!!!!!!

Slash also has a second Derrig replica and a third Max Baranet Les Paul Replica.

Slash recently admitted that he did not use a true Les Paul guitar in the recording of Guns N ‘Roses’ Appetite for Destruction (1987). In a question and answer session on Reddit (via Alternative Nation), the guitarist was asked about the rumor that the music world has talking for some time...

“The Les Paul I used on Appetite for Destruction and that I still use to this day in the studio was actually done by a guy – rest in peace – [called] Chris Derrig, he used to make reissues and replicas of Les Paul in 1959. So this one made in 1985, I think, and it was given to me in 1986 or 1987.”

In addition, the musician even revealed that Gibson, maker of the model, eventually released a “replica” of his guitar.

“Gibson went there and made a replica of my replica. Gibson released a copy of the copy..."

That Slash copy brought the Les Paul sales soaring tru da roof , once again, bigtime! So they make a Slash Les Paul to his copied specks and there collectable now. The whole friggin show is a dysfunctional paradox as I see it
