Nice, Bear. My girlfriend and I were likely in your general are back in '17 when we drove all over Vegas, Cali and AZ .

That guitar he is playing is as confused as Doyle---pickguard on TOP knobs on the bottom like a proper lefty--- strings righty--- Doyles lefty-- wears his watch on his left -- like a righty---

it all makes my brain hurt-- It is like Picasso created a band--- surprised the drummer isnt on the ceiling with the drumsticks on his feet!

Statistically MOST people wear the watch on the less dominant hand---

I too do many things ambidextrously-- or can -- I can write equally CRAPPY with both--
If I golf I drive right handed but putt lefty--
I can play tennis with either hand -- or both (raquet in each hand--- that pisses off purists)

do to breaking my right arm/wrist and hand -- 8 times (combined over many years) --- I HAD to learn to use the left (which was broke 4....or 5 HELL I lost track---)

SO I "get it"

Love the "shawl" the bass player is wearing---- interesting band for sure-- I like the music---

He is a regular it seems on the Crossraods and other tours-- damn fine player--- doesnt get much credit out there IMHO

Same with Carol Kaye 10,000 hit songs. I know of her my father and her were friends but had no idea how great she is.
If I look at it from a drummers prospective I started with jazz then big band then went back to dixieland jazz that was my journey

That is the CMT version of the Explorer E2 that came out after the E2. The regular E2s that came out in '79 were all 5 ply "pancake" maple and walnut heavily contoured bodies with 5 ply maple walnut tops. Most were natural MWMWM, but there were also natural WMWMW versions. The CMTs like above were not contoured, had top body binding and the namesake "Curly Maple Top".

I've become a lot more familiar with these, as I've just bought one: A '79 Explorer E2. Apparently a rare sunburst (not a CMT), I've not been able to find another sunburst one. Lots of other anomalies too that I'm still in the process of sorting out. With original case too. Below is mine:

Your guitar looks great! I assume the fret board is ebony? Nice touch and what exactly is the vibrato unit?
