Gibson Announces New CEO

YEP GANG-- get your USA Gibsons WHILE YOU CAN--- this new CEO is a "Globalist"

Where are LEVIS made?????? -- GOOD OL USA LEVIS!?!?!?!

For the large majority of their jeans, Levi's are not made in the USA. More than 99% of their jeans are made in countries like China, Japan, Italy, and others. Levi's does have a single collection of “Made in theUSA” 501 jeans, sourced from a small denim mill called White Oak in Greensboro, NC.Jul 4, 2018

SEEMS those "Chobsons" are going to become MORE plentiful............likely sold THROUGH GIBSON---

Well, if Gibson screws up and shuts down or has there stuff made in other countries other than the USA, I guess that'll open a spot for another company. But, I have the funny feeling they ain't going anywhere...

IMO, this is great news!

In the online Rolling Stone article: "As CEO, Curleigh says his first task will be to reinvigorate the company’s morale and get employees excited about refocusing around Gibson’s core business: high-quality musical instruments."

Agreed. That would be the final death knell for Gibson. I wouldn't ever buy a Gibson made in another country. I'm already contemplating a Heritage as my next purchase.

Heritage "Les Pauls" are very nice. Haven't plugged one in, but holding one and strumming it acoustically feels like it should the Les Paul thing very well.

In a way they are more the original than even a Gibson. If you can get past the cosmetic differences they are amazing guitars (basically CS quality) and an insane value. I'll be perfectly honest and say that what has held me back buying one to date is the headstock, but I realize now that's a silly reason not to buy a guitar that you otherwise love.

Gball, I am kicking myself for having such a slow brain. Heritage is not a Gibson Model, but the company staffed by ex Gib employees.

DUH

Correct. And they are swanky as hell:

And are incredibly high quality. Once you get over the headstock and lower horn shape and just play them they are right up there with the very best Gibbies at a really competitive price. I was thinking about buying a 2019 Les Paul Traditional but then I realized these are essentially the same spec, at a lower price and with the cachet of being made at 225 Parsons St.
