This all came about because I wanted to remove the pickup covers, but I didn't like the look of black pickups with the cream plastics. It just didn't look right to me. So as usual I went all out, changed the hardware and everything.

I need to order some new strap buttons. I have some black ones that I was planning to use, but the ones that are on it are huge (beefiest ones I've ever seen) so they have way bigger screws than the black ones I have so I need to try to find some black ones like these.

Very nice work ! I like the improvements..

Y'all probably know that I have a Marshall Studio Classic 20 combo. Well since I bought my extension cab last month and it sounds so much better thru the closed back cab than the combo does I've been thinking about selling the combo and getting a head and just using the cab. Well, just for sh ts and grins I was doing a search for a used SC20H and one was just listed on Reverb for hundreds less than what they normally go for used. I couldn't pass it up.

The best part is that changing the tuners really thickened up the overall sound of the guitar. I've been giving it hell tonight. The lows are chunkier and growlier and the highs are a little less bright and sweeter. I was this >< close to changing out the bridge pickup because it had sort of a what I describe as a "fizzy" sound, but it doesn't anymore.

I don't think folks realize just how much the tuners come into play in the overall sound of a guitar, but it's significant.
