AND --- while I am NOT going to cast aspersions...........but------- was that not the same year Captian Kirks own custom SG was released (2013)??? --- and -- COULD it be possible (because for those who give two turds less about the Jimmy Fallon show) that the entire thing was a PUBLICITY stunt to GET press for a rather UNKNOWN musician (outside certain circles) and increase google hits---research---videos and SALES of HIS guitar........maybe????? Possibly? Perhaps?

JUST---a thought......
 
OR maybe Prince didnt like the guy---didnt like his custom guitar---and decided to be a dick---- either one is plausible

And the guitar had no coil tap on the middle pickup.

Perhaps we will never know ----the rest of the story--- like I say either is plausible ---however unlike Townsend ( you must REALLY HATE THAT GUY) who smashed guitars regularly----- I can find little or no refrence to Prince smashing ANY OTHER GUITAR and to the contrary many of his appear to have been with him many years.....

so again --- I present ----- this was a stunt--- GOBBS of free press that still exist on the interwebs long after one is dead and the other is ......I guess still on the Jimmy Fallon show??? WHo even cares about Jimmy Fallon??

WHo did he take over from? LEnno......who took over from??.......who took ugh--- the whole thing is so diluted it stopped being funny 30 years ago. Was it Carson was Fallons show originally Carson???? or Conan O'Brien --- who was his show ----was that Letterman? or ---

As far as Pete, Ritchie, Jimi and all the other guitar smashers and burners go,
I would be far more impressed if they had donated those instruments to a
local high school music program instead of needlessly destroying them.
Deliberately destroying a perfectly good guitar is 1st degree assholism.

Wow! Great point! Imagine how far a signed guitar could go towards a music program!
 
I hate seeing people smash guitars but back when smashing guitars was the in thing to do guirars were not put on pedestools like they are now. They were just guitars that could be had for little or nothing.You smash your Strat or SG Special one nite you just went to the pawn shop or used guitar store and got you another one.

True....i never thought it was cool...everything came so hard for us that everything was precious to us...
 
I hate seeing those lovely Vintage guitars being smashed myself.Just what they did. Get your can of lighter fliud out boys and girls and burn that nice Strat at the Alter of Jimi :)
 
Agreed Robert,You never seen me smashing no guitars.Hell i was happy to have one that worked lol.
