I don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s the immediacy of the attack versus the sag of tubes. But for what I do in my band, solid state amps have been what has stuck around, tube amps come and go.

I’ve used Quilter and Fender solid state amps, and those have been the backbone of my tone for this band for three years. I’ve tried to incorporate Mesa, Marshall, Savage, Matchless, some really high end stuff, but again, the affordable solid state amps truly perform how I want them to with this four piece band

FYI, i own no tube amps. Nothing against tube amps either. For me personally i get by with a Boss Katana MK2 50 watt combo.A white tolex Positive Grid Spark 40 and a Boss dual Cube amp. Just turn um on and play. Boss has some of the best built in delay and chorus there is. But i know this tube amp vs what ever is beatin a dead horse ya ask me.Like 9mm vs 38. AR vs Bushmaster. There all good .play what ya like.

We might agree to disagree , that's definitely fine. Myself I like discussions with different opinions, and ideas. Who knows, maybe one might even change their decision of their way on thinking on a certain topic.

Debating can be a good thing, its only negative if you allow it to be.

Link not working for me?
If this is a tube vs. SS thing, I have some of both.
Love my tube amps, but if I had to pack up an amp for a jam/gig, I'd grab one of my kick-@$$ MOSFETs.

There’s always the 3rd choice. None of the above. I don’t play out anymore. So these days I play thru a Boss GT1 multi effect box into headphones. Keeps piece in the family and I can still rock it.

But for the record. When I did. It was a tube amp since it’s all I have.

Really, have to use something versatile, full control and silent ?
I used to make noise, not as much now, down sized after I moved. Not because I wanted to.
