Mode Four and an Explorer for the ultimate tones!!!

A fun match up! Actually got both within a year apart from each other, so it's kinda meant to be lol I've been running it as a half stack in stereo with the DSL50 full stack lately and it gets a cool top end/meets bottom end with a tiny delay between them

The Explorer will fit into a mix better than the BC Rich(between the above samples)…
That said, the Rich seems to wield some gut punching girth…sounds huge…but will step into the bass guitar tone zone.

You mean the V?

They are both tuned C# std.
I agree with you. The BC Rich sounds like it’s got a big hairy pair. The pups that were in it before I swapped them out were even deeper and darker.
I have some pups coming in for it. I want to see if that makes a difference and tames this thing.

The Dean sounds a tad bit brighter in that tuning. I'd say at a higher tuning however, they'd be closer matched.

They do sound very similar in this example. The rich might have a little more smudgy gain in it. Both are hot axes to look at!
In my ears I liked the dean just a tad more.
