FRIDAY NIGHT RIFFS

OK, first try with my Scarlett interface. It sounds flat and too much treble, plus I think I need to mess with my phaser settings. I'll go back and fix it up later once I know what I'm doing with the software. I figured I'd play something @Ramo would approve. Since I've been working on picking speed for the last 2 weeks, I figure I'd show it off a little.

I hope it's true to the song.

Enjoy ... PS how do you link video to the audio clip?

How are you setting up your mic, and which mic are you using here?

Actually, what's your entire signal chain?

I know Don wanted to know lol

I'm using an old mic (Digital Reference DR-LVX2)>2i2>Reaper DAW (which I bare know how to use)
Fender Showmaster > Keeley Compressor > Boss MT-2 > Digital Audio Lunar Phaser > TC Electronics HoF > Line6 Spider (Its easier to move to the computer room than the DSL)
I think the mic was dead nuts in front of the cone.
Also, I did a bunch of takes, I may have had my chorus on, not 100%. I was too into the interface, but I'm pretty sure it was off for that take.

This was my first speculation upon listening.
Do you have a looper pedal? If yes, you can experiment with mic placement while a loop is playing. With a close mic, small moves usually make for big changes. A good set of sealed back headphones, for monitoring changes, are a huge plus for this exercise.

This is a big point for iOS recording. Some apps facilitate moving Wav files to a computer, via wifi, for mixing.

This is my second fav song by Pantera first is Revolution is my name.

Ok …..
This is what uncle Ramo thinks.

1) lose the delay
2) Double track your guitars
3) Dont copy paste same take (dont be lazy ass and do a new take)
4) Move the mic and place it between dust cup and speaker cone
I only use mic if Im using my amp….I cant be bothered with mic-ing cabs, as its very difficult to get the sound you like. Smallest movements effects the sound.
Thats why I went direct and using cab sim, you can get different cabs at swipe of the buttons. You can download new ones too.

About synching audio with vide you need to load it both files into your video editing software and match the phone audio wave to your playing wave
