Here's a riff I just started working on. Decided to record it so I don't forget it. Sucks getting old.

Man we are getting some great contributions, all of them are sounding great guys , keep them flowing, my well is dry, and I am having a bout with gout in my right wrist, so I’m taking some time off at the moment, @Cadorman
Every thing I record is for that sole purpose to not forget, and I have noticed that many are sounding like the one before,,, hmm I need to branch out more, or really find someone to work with..

I can listen to Pink Floyd anytime. I know other guys that feel the same as you though.

My original music is heavily inspired by Floyd. Alice In Chains would probably be second. And I guess Radiohead is in there too.
I am basically aiming for a mix of Gilmour and Cantrell both tonally and stylistically. I have my Jonny Greenwood and Ed O'Brien moments too I guess.

I may not be a big Pink Floyd fan….. but totally acknowledge Gilmore as a great guitar player. He’s one of those like EVH, Santana and others where it’s….. I can name that guitarist in two notes. He has a sound thats his.

That is a cool laid back 70’s vibe.
The guitar sounds like it’s in a big hall !!

Thanks man. I put the phone on the other side of the room the second time to keep it from clipping. Its a lot noisier since the AC unit was running.


Thanks. This first clip is actually the Epi Wilshire middle position with both coils split. The second clip is the Charvel on my main rig.

That the Charvel? If so, it sounds beautiful. Very Mike McCreedy soul in the riff: slightly dirty but a clear jangly warble. Really nice

Here's me trying to dial in a nice, heavy bass tone with my new TRBX174. I swapped the stock pickups for Neodymium Entwistle pups and wow they make ceramic magnets look weak.

Trying to land somewhere between John Paul Jones, Cliff Burton and Doom'ey-with-way-too-much-dirt... track goes back and forth between full band and solo'ed bass to hear the difference.

Using a Soldano SLO100 amp sim into a 410 cab for the dirty side and a MesaUSA100 into the same 410 cab for the clean side.

That is unbelievably fat and nasty in all the right ways. Bass sounds like AIC and some doom guitar over top. Awesome
