FRIDAY NIGHT RIFFS

Good stuff. You're only an hour away from me, I see. Maybe sometime we get together and jam? What Marshall head is that?

That would be cool. Where are you? I'm all vaxxed up now, so I'm good to go. The head on the stack is a DSL100HR. I also have a JCM900 2500 MKII running as a slave in those videos. Also sometimes use a JCM800 100 watt clone or a JMP 50 watt 4 hole clone.

Thanks buddy.
Doesn’t everyone need an LP ??
So, funny story that.

Ace Frehley circa 1976 is what sparked my desire to be a musician. I had posters of him on my wall for years with his LP.

Started playing guitar in the late 80s, got serious about it in the mid 90s. Went through a sweet Charvel, a dozen or so BC Riches, about 5 Ibanez RG and S series, LTDs and Jacksons. It wasn't until about 3 months ago that I bought an LP - an Epiphone Custom. But, I only bought it to flip it. Had it for about 3 weeks then sold it for a tidy little profit that funded my Mesa Lone Star 112 cab.

It had a killer Sabbath tone to it. Could have written doom riffs for days on it...

But, for whatever reason, I just don't like single cutaway guitars. They just look dated to me. So, even though I get the occasional urge to have an LP, I know I'm better off sticking with my super Strat bodies and the occasional pointy guitar ala my LTD Arrow or a Trace Warbeast that I'm currently GASing for...

I'm up in Lino, right outside Blaine. Love the DSL series - yours is just more proof of why. I have a DLS1 and it's hands down the best little practice amp I've ever owned or even heard. Back in the day when I was still gigging, I used a JCM900 4100 atop two Carvin 412b cabinets and it roared like a pissed off T-Rex. The DSL1 is the closest I've ever come to that sound at a volume that doesn't rattle the rafters.

We're in a townhouse right now, so a stack is not in my immediate future. But, once the housing market comes back to sane levels, we're looking to buy a single-family place with a basement so I can make a soundproof jam room and then I'll probably grab another stack. For now, I get by with my DSL1 into 2 Marshall 110s loaded with Celestions and my Jet City JCA22h into a Mesa Lonestar 112. Still enough volume to wake the neighbors, but not enough to blow the drywall out of the houses. lol

Here is where I grabbed last Friday’s riff from, I like this version better, looks like I have some more work to do, plus the pace is better..
Cheers

So Mitch….. had a Yes tune stuck in my head most of the morning. Listened to this and now I have your tune stuck in my head. Don’t know what it is…. But I really hook into the tunes you share playing that LP and SG.

Thank you so much for the compliment brother, I have items that I need to iron out, but I haven’t had many new ideas in a bit.
I was listening to CADORMAN’s V clip and pulled a bit of inspiration from it.
I will bring the little burst of what I came up with from it

That is pretty sweet Mitch. Just got to the cabin a while ago. Brought the V with the DSL1HR this time. Maybe it will inspire me.

I was listening to your clip, and just messing around a bit, and I pulled that piece from your playing, as if we were kicking back with a couple of beers, and trying out ideas..
It was a blast by the way..
Cheers
Mitch
