So i saw a familiar face out in my town today and i instantly thought, "Oh, i know what I should share with the TTR gang!"

This is Gene Walker: Local man about town and purveyor of fine lawn care services here in the Metropolis of Oak Hill, WV, but MOST importantly: aspiring country recording artist.

This was recorded by someone in town 4 years ago, just over 600ft from my house's subdivision in the abandoned Walmart Parking Lot, beside Tractor Supply Company. Just please suck in the soulfulness and beauty of this, in its entirety of course ( its less than 2 mins and you DO NOT want to skip a second)! ;)

Side note: he is actually a nice guy in person and i feel bad laughing but ill pay for that one later lol

Man that guy can sing for sure.... i thought i was bad but he out shine me for sure with his skills... :)
Hahaha right?? He has like a 100 songs at random he'll start singing to you, whether you want him to or not, if he spots you. He once held me and my wife hostage in Wal-Mart for a good 20mins asking me " Have you heard this one??" And started singing a dozen songs. They all sound like this lol

I like guys like him when im drunk :) i get good lough out if it... and i play along saying sounds killer and stuff :)

He's singing a song he wrote on video... That takes a lot more guts than I'll ever have.
Oh hes not lacking in confidence. He has that for days and no one can take that away!

But for a lil behind the scenes: the lyrics he's singing mentions " i met you in the town of Mount Hope and then i took you, to the Glen Jean Motel room" then later he mentions going to " The Fayetteville courthouse" to get married.

Mount Hope is a tiny little town about 6 miles away ( i actually lived there as a kid for a year) and its Cracktown USA. The Glen Jean Motel? Thats a roach motel stuck in 1958 full of junkies and the Fayetteville courthouse is our County Court lol

Sounds like a similar character as the janitor in my grade school. Every christmas for at least 10 years he'd randomly show up at our door and sing to my mum (she also worked at the school)

I just realized that might not sound as weird as it was, but it's absolutely not customary to show up at random people's doors and sing on christmas here.

Sometimes it's nice when you recognize things and places in songs... But yeah maybe that's taking it a bit too far :D
