I’ve got an old Carter AFB carb that I will GIVE AWAY FREE (you pay shipping) to any forum member.

Get it before I turn to eBay!

EDIT: Earlier, I erroneously described this as an AVS.

Looks like an AFB. Looks like Buick linkage and fuel inlet.

All I know is it was described as an AVS on eBay when I bought it about twenty years ago. I’m not very familiar with them, so I can’t say authoritatively whether it’s an AVS or an AFB.

If it’s an AFB, cool!

Give me the carb number and I will decode...

Ha!

You’re not gonna believe this!

In looking for the carb number, I found it embossed “Carter AFB”! I stashed it when I got it and eventually got rid of the intended car.

I guess the previous seller was wrong!

I’m going to edit the thread title.

Thanks, Robert!

AVS has a sheet metal valve on the top - see attached image in previous post. You have an AFB.

Look for a number, sometimes on an aluminum tag...again, refer to image I posted.

I’m not in a rush. I’m just cleaning out the garage and ran across the carb on a shelf.

I’ll give forum members a chance to see this. I’ll give it about a week. If no one here shows any interest, to eBay I shall go!

Thanks for the great info, Robert!

I grew up working in Pop's restoration shop and from 1980 until 1988 I drove only Mopar, so I've worked on a few of these. Glad I could help out!!!
