For those who maybe lost a bit of inspiration to play

Maybe I should try a different guage of strings, or a different tuning. Maybe even grab a different guitar. Sometimes just a little different feel can spawn an idea or just make you play a tad bit differently. Maybe I restring one of my Floyd'd axes. One of the Jacksons, perhaps. Maybe get my grandpa's ol dobro back out, tune it up open and work on some gritty slide guitar. Try a new amp, or something...something

I feel bad, like I've abandoned my craft.. There are songs that I've written just in the past year, that I am no longer in shape enough to actually play. One in particular involves some riffing that requires some pretty intricate and precision pick hand work and I can't frigging do it anymore. Dammit, I was proud of that passage too lol

I posted one video of myself doing some lead stuff over a backing track sometime in Feb '19, and I know for a fact that I cannot play that anymore......and I was even half drunk when I recorded it lol

I actually feel.....guilty about this.

I think it's time for me to get back to doing what I love doing. I guess that's why it's called the grind. It's not always gonna be rainbows and butterflies, this :poo: takes actual work, man. Sometimes I seem to forget that.

If it makes you feel better Mcb,,,,,,,, I can't even play all of Three Blind Mice or Row Row Row your Boat yet and I am almost 57.

So I have not been posting much recently due to several life issues which have also been effecting my urge to play guitar. In actuallity I have only picked up a guitar once in the past year and a half. I love music, I love listening to music, I love listening to members here sharing their music. I hope to be able to enjoy playing again sometime soon. Due to powers beyond my control, I just can't find the time or the motivation to pick up and play. I hope to change this situation soon.

I encourage you to play Wav, even if its 15 minutes a day pick up that guitar and noodle or whatever it takes. The longer you stay away the harder to come back. I will give you til tomorrow or I will call the guitar Police......

Ola can definitely do leads too! he says he can't but i watched him on Jared Dine's "Shred Wars" and while he's not the fastest player i've seen his lead playing sounds REALLY good.

see this is where I have an advantage ----- I DONT KNOW WTF Im doing -- so -- I dont know if Im getting worse .......or better :)

I do know we are out of rum again....................I think the dogs do shots when Im not at home
Damn dogs has been making day trips to Az, I'm convinced of it.

Have a good one that helps me.. when you are watching TV..grab a guitar, dont plug in..but try & play along to the Commercials before they end. Any & everything is on em . It will pull you to many many dif things you would never play on your own. Teaches more of a natural reflex musically vs having to know it before hand

That's what me and my old bandmate in college used to do for fun lol.

Sit around stoned on the couch and try to figure out the music quicker than the other guy. You will get much sharper, and start to see how music is put together depending on the genre'

Roadrunner cartoons were the best!

Love your living room McBlink hahahahahahahahah.my kind of place
Well I don't live there anymore, so all those Marshalls and guitars now live in the jam hole which is built in to LRT's shop, and my RV is parked right behind it, so for right now, that's where I'm living. My living room is quite a bit smaller now lol BUT with this new employment opportunity I'm after, I could very well be buying a house of my own pretty soon. And then maybe I can get back to ripping it up on guitar with a newfound enthusiasm
