I saw a post on FB, I think yesterday, about a new discovery about Tool's 10,000 Days. At least it was the first I've heard of it.

If you take the two songs "Viginti Tres" and "Wings for Marie, Pt 1" played back to back in that order, and play "10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2)" at the same time, they line up and complement each other.

"Viginti Tres" I thought was a wasted track being just some random noises which is why I leave it off my playlists. However, it's a placeholder for the second song, Wings Pt 1. The two tracks add up to the same track length as Wings Pt 2.

I opened up Wings Pt 2 on YT and played the two songs with my phone and it's really cool to hear. It's difficult to get them lined up, but once they are it's really trippy and very cool to hear.

Tool is pretty much my favorite band, and I love the easter eggs they put in everything. The planning and thought is one thing but to then put it all to music that is so powerful is something else entirely (the Fibonacci sequence that Lateralus is set to for example). Knowing them there is no possibility this is coincidental. Whenever I find out more details like this it sends me right back into a listening frenzy (was just spinning Fear Inoculum this morning and now I need to keep going).

I've always found the best way to enjoy Tool is listening to an album start to finish. Its incredibly rewarding.
