Of course it's likely not Norman Greenbaum playing it.
Probably the Wrecking Crew, who played most of the "hit" songs on the radio at the time using numerous band names and identities.
But I think that one song is why I decided to play electric guitar. In 1968 I was obsessive about the guitar distortion, which to me was the coolest sound on earth.
