well that depends on yer price point. ;)

However --- I will be honest in this --- BASSes ........are CHEAP --- and damn good ones can often be had for VERY little scratch ---as in the same or a little more than the cost to ship one of these heavy beasties to you----

Look fer 80's-90's model USA Peavey's EXCELLENT bang for the buck -- the Fury and Foundation seriosu are great the Patriot basses are wonderful and alll these can be had for under 2 bills usualy with an HSC

OF course Squires (P and J) can be found very affordably and are great guitars...easy to mod with LOTS of upgrades.

Even DEAN can be good--- if you can handle the BIG ASS headstocks --thing is--- even if you hit CL or a Pawn SHop --- get a beater fer cheap to try and see if you like the vibe first---

then upgrade if ya do--- or trade/sell off if you dont--- bass isnt for everyone you have to be a little "special" lol aint that right Chili! ???
 
That said Ibanez has some fine examples.
and the ones on RONDOMUSIC can be had for damn cheap.......the SX basses are as good a build quality as the average squire sometimes better.....

Yes, and ask one of our "special" female members, Heket. She converted from SG's to bass.
And if I remember correctly, Adrian has an SG type copy of an EB bass

Truth be told, I actually started with a bass as a teenager. This would be returning to my roots.
 
Its a crap shoot around here................the "V" I got last week Sold and flipped OUT yesterday---- was here for the Hurricane......got here a coouple days before---I think its bad luck---but it made me 100 bucks and ---GONE........on to the next

YUp---6 days --- woulda been less if there hadn't been a damn Hurricane --- It was nice and all-- actually DAMN NICE for 99.00 --- but--- alas --- it wasnt my VIBE---
 
after the hundreds --- poop possibly thousands-- of guitars that have wondered in and out of my paws --- its a rather QUICK procedure now days to "YEAH--or NEAH" a victim
 
Hey Grant ---look about for a Peavey PATRIOT bass.......one of my first Peaveys and --- I WILL have another at some point--- excellent simple well made SOLID Boom Stick.

I like the wood on the Peavey, but the 6 string SX interests me. I've never played a 6 string bass and I wonder how wide that neck is?
 
I started typing something about leaving your overvalued stuff at Chilli's house but I wont go there......
