For BlackSG

Ray, please tell me more about this Strat, every time I look at it I see things new to me.
I bought that strat new in 1983, my first electric. It is a Strat Elite, with the "new" active TBX and MDX controls, side output jack, push button on/off pickup selectors for 8 options (including all off), new Freflyte trem which is front mounted (no back route) and covered active pickups. It is intended to get strat sounds and humbucker sounds with the new controls and active pickups. The trem was discarded for good reason. The push buttons were discarded without good reason IMHO. The guitar rocks!

VOX Virage rapidly becoming unobtanium

I've had luck follow me around most of my life. I tend to like something and buy, then for reasons unknown at the time that whatever it was goes up in value. Won't at this time go into that history BUT regarding these Virage guitars ... A few years back I saw them on line and asked Adrian for his opinion, he suggested they would be OK. I decided to get one but couldn't find one anywhere in Australia. At the time I had no experience importing so I reluctantly forgot about them. Now I'm buying my guitars overseas and relaxed with the process the VOX has gone way up in price and people are holding on to them. It's all Adrian's fault, he wasn't my shipping agent at the time :-(

one of the rareities of the Semi hollow and the other models in that year line--- are the pickups -- those are custom designed (by Dimarzzio) and proprietary to that Virage Series-- the ones on mine are "similar" but not as good --

COnversley you can get these for 300-500.00 same bui;ld quality ---same QC....damn fine guitar in its own right

IMG_7253.JPG IMG_7337.JPG IMG_7348.JPG The Les Paul Standard had a pup make over, now what? I did the Peter Green thing to my Jap Les Paul Custom. It is louder than my Gibsons and the out of phase sounds fantastic with no loss of volume. Just what I need. I know that the next time the cops come that I had my fingers crossed won't work.
