Oh. It gets better. Dug deeper….. it was early, had nothing else to do yet….. went to Amazon. Found photos of package. List of ingredients. It’s not even rice. 3 ingredients. In order…. Water, flour, citric acid. It’s pasta!!!!

It's really orzo pasta? That's just nuts. Maybe they think it's basically unknown in the US?
Then again, perhaps for some in the more remote backwaters it is...

I dated a chef for awhile; she liked orzo a lot and used it as one of her 'secret ingredients.'
She used to mix orzo and actual rice; the combination has a really cool mouthfeel.
Combination of stick & slip in every bite.
Plus the pilaf effect - like Rice A Roni for grownups.
