Fixed my buddies' Peavey

I used some of the Deoxit ( sorry if I've misspelled ! ) on all the pots. I turned back and forth 10 ten times all the way on the pots. My friend helped. After finding a non messed up guitar cord, that Peavey Backstage is in business again. For a small solid state amp it actually has a cool tone coming out of it. No more scratchy pots! From what he was telling me, I don't believe it was even working before I cleaned it up. This is the second old ss amp I fixed just by using this fancy contact cleaner stuff.

Hard to kill em--- thats a nice amp

This one is made in Mississippi ( I had to look up the spelling! ). For being SS it has a very respectable tone to my old ears. If I spotted one of these used for cheap, I would pick it up in a heartbeat. I'm a fan of Peavey stuff. There is some guy who sells pickups on some of the gear forums that plays an older small tube Peavey combo which has a major killer tone. I seen him do a demo with him and one of his guitar buddies and they played some really tasty blues. My favorite mid size Peavey combo is the Classic 30. They made some killer small tube combos here in the states years ago.

The cleaner lube is recommended for pots; cleaner only may actually make them worse sooner than later.

They make several different products including contact cleaners as well as the cleaner / lube.
I did the same before I became aware of it.

+1 on Deoxit. It cleans oxidized surfaces. It's mades for pot cleaning. No comments from the peanut gallery.
