I have been thinking about this for a while now....Love the black and gold, Love the switch position, Control layout...Binding...

Firebird Reverse.jpg

However, I see many things I would change.

Non-Reverse Firebird headstock with straight string pull through the nut.

Gold Tuners Keystone Style

12 String EDS-1275 Neck with Nut Cut For Only 6 Strings

Hmmmm.....Looks like B. Hefner will be getting some more $$$... :-)

Needs a Floyd.

It's the angle of the pic. The strings are straight to the tuners, but of course angle down toward the headstock. As for binding, if you have a Gibson that strings bind on your guitar is not set up properly, period. If the nut is cut right no binding. And I agree, the only real "Firebird" in my opinion is the laminated body, neckthrough version with the little Firebird pickups in it. That black custom looks killer but it's too different from a "real" Firebird for me.

OH hell yeah I forgot the Mini Humbuckers indeed.

I totally understand and agree. It's just another one of my crazy project ideas...

Thanks, Black....I agree.

I sent a request to B. Hefner with dimensions and for the cost estimate of procurement of wood, body and neck construction, assembly and paintwork.

It would arrive as an empty shell, requiring fret install, nut install, electronics and all hardware.
