Fender

I like tusq... and I don't care if someone says it's plastic.
I've used tusq on a number of guitars and and zero problems and
many advantages. Bone might be best, but for me it's tusq.
I replaced the std nut on my G400 with a tusq nut. When I order the neck for my Tele project guitar, it was ordered with a tusq nut. My other guitars is whatever came on them when they were built.

On the G400 I could hear the difference immediately between the stock plastic nut and the tusq.

I thought so too on the three Epis I've used the tusq on
but I was also upgrading pickups and wiring etc, so
how to you decide what's doing what.

Tusq is easy to work with and generally only needs a little sanding to
be right. That's worth a lot IMHO... I've paid good luthiers to make new
nuts, and that's expensive but worth it.
