Fender VS Fender VS Fender shootout

Im w/ Goo-- the Mustang --to my ear-- sounded BETTER the more expensive tube Fender......

Fender Vs Fender/......

FOOL disclosure -- I own the X2 head.......and I LOVE it (run it through the PEavey 12" Sheffield speaker) .......

I had a Mustang. I traded it and a Pedaltrain board for my Crate bv412s that I swapped out the speakers for stock 1960 units. The only thing that Mustang had going for it was a leper could carry it with one arm. If he had one.

funny of all the modeling amps Ive owned I found the Fender Mustang series to be the easiest to use and had the most versatile tone-- easiest software to navigate--and the least expensive
the multiple VOX options are a CLOSE second
the MARSHALL CODE --- flat out sucked-- (the interface and software not the amps basic tone-- to be fare I bought EARLY first release models )

which one did you have the
20 watter?
50 watter?
100 watter?

Ive not owned a BOSS--- or some of the other modelers.......

I do have a ROLAND Micro cube that is very good for what it is -- it has a few BUILT in models ...but nothing like the above offerings...

no one has allowed me to rub my junk on their Kemper so I cant speak to that technology .......but some seem to love it

I have this ...........it has 1 12ax7 and 2 6v6 tubes........and some computer stuff I dont understand----
the clean channel flat out sounds and acts like a fender tube amp
the "fender based models' Champ--Princeton Tweed Deluxe etc. -are very good IMHO -- the "metal" voiced -- and VOX voiced options......eh...they are "o.k." --
for those interested it WILL CHUG
it has 3 reverb settings-- and chorus -- tremolo --delay-- and vibratone (I use the reverb not big on the others)
I paid a sum total of 239.00 to the door as they say ....
it also connects to the FUSE software for a damn near infinite array of "tones" that are downloadable

in a nut shell its a crap ton of crap for little coil -- with tube flavor.....

sort of a bridge between the typical "tube" (1 tube) hybrid......and a FULL on tube amp---

however to be 110% honest
my 45.00 Craigslist marshall 80's valvestate 8020 all solid state combo ------out "CHUGS" the crap out of it .......BUWAHAHAHAHAHAH

anywho-- its a decent amp-- its like a real amp not a toy---for toy price

Full disclosure as well: I own the '68 Princeton. And I do think it sounds a lot better than the X2 in this video. But is it 3X the price better? Even I don't know the answer to that, and to be honest I dropped a lot of extra money into the amp to make it right for me: Celestion Alnico Gold ($175) and a Dr. Z Brake Lite ($300) so the tally at the end of the day is almost $1400 for the amp because the stock speaker was crap and it needed the attenuator to be usable at anything close to normal volume (who knew 12 watts could be so loud?). I think the X2 is the better value for sure, and it is definitely more versatile.

fools disclosure--- the X2 head--well mine-- (through a 12" Peavey Cab) sounds way better than the combo in the video---I mean a CRAP TON better--
he also didnt feature the CLEAN channel on the X2 which from what I understand bypasses all the modeling circuit and is essentially a Fender Tube amp -- for short $--

plus models and effects --- seems a groovy value to me

and they are Hecho in Mexico ---(both the high dollar Princeton and the low money X2) ----gotta be some cross pollination there lol

maybe some of you amp soldering folks can clarify the info I was given?

The 12AX7 is the phase inverter, so it must have either a SS or modeled preamp. Cool amp nonetheless, and I do really love my Princeton.
