They have 6 Plants, with over 1,000 Employee's. Guitars that are made are mid range to high end. Founded by Robert Godin in 1972 it is a private business, Family owned.

Godin makes all their own tools, machine presses etc. They bend the sides with their own machines using steam to heat wood and bend at a specific speed, each wood has to be bent at different speed. they studied the speeds for 4-5 years to get it right when designing the machine.

Nice. My situation exactly...he didn't bond with the neck cause he has small hands. I love the neck most of all, the CS relic necks are masterful. I can't even really describe the joy it gives me. The nitro lacquer is burnished to perfection like a favorite vintage guitar with 10,000 hours on it. Unreal.

Funny, I have small hands, and the seller was a big farmer with very big hands, but he didn´t bound with it, lucky for me :)

I've been wanting to visit that factory. I saw a fairly long documentary on YouTube once where they explain all the custom tooling they've designed to build these things. Its a lot bigger operation than I expected. There was some really cool equipment and innovative processes being used. I was impressed.

Robert Godin is one sharp Knife. They have a large operation and very innovative Company, As I said in my post above , they make all their own tools, presses etc. I have not been through the plant , but would also like to do the Tour. And much of the work is hand done like in a Custom Shop. Years back they used to make necks for Kramer, and Fender, no longer as they have been too busy working on their own guitars. To me they are more advanced than other big names, and they are continuously striving to be better. To me that's what separates the Men from the Boy's.
