FENDER NEXT???????

I think Fender is a very solid guitar company. They have been my go guitar for a very long time.
I can't work on Squiers. They is too much to charge and I don't want to spend the time on a half done job. The Mexican stuff is a very different thing. Gibson guitars are a work of art in many cases but the price is crazy. Fender go out of business so does Squier. Gibson poops out we still have Epiphone. I am not sure how but that the way it goes.
I have built Fender stuff but Gibson stuff is above my head.

I think (as I am a lover of Epiphone as well as Gibson ---but certainly many YEARS of Epiphone ownership prior to Gibson affordability) I would think it poetic justice if the EPIPHONE side (and the Chinese contingent) BOUGHT OUT Gibson.......

Not that I care--- I dont see me buying a new Gibson........Im in love with the 70/80 range I have 3 Norlin products a bass a guitar and an acoustic.....I will languish in this happiness for quite a bit. :)

As goes Gibson goes Epiphone. Epi is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gibson and they own the factory in China, they don’t farm the work out any more. There isn’t some separate Chinese company that is poised to acquire Gibson (thank goodness!), instead, Gibson might just liquidate that asset and Epi would be gone or owned by someone else.

I will go with what you say. I can't find the article I read by corporate lawyers. It explained how Epiphone is clear and free from Gibsons debts and can continue to operate. I find it then I will post it. So far no one has foreseen the death of Epiphone even though they are under the Gibson umbrella.

I think Fender is far more stable at the moment that Gibson will ever be depending on their future outcome. The Fender Stratocaster is their biggest flagship guitar that will always attract buyers no matter what. It's just a cool and very ergonomic guitar that will remain a classic like the Les Paul guitar.
