the gear purge is really a trick to get new old amps i seem to have noticed..my wife is like,,will it ever end..i keep saying..hey..how did you sound in the mix last song ? i must have many tones available to keep your voice out front..or if we go back to DSL's-SLX's..you have to fight it again..so ..Fender amps have no cap to how many & J favors SG's so ..he he..Fenders & SG's here we come..legally with spousal approval..if you dont get the 67 Bandmaster....................when you get to the swamp I am going to poke you in the arm REALLY HARD -------and rub my junk on things of yorus when your not looking![]()

love it...hey i can think of a lot of other things that would be bad for us, most of my friends are still doing(the ones still alive)..if some guitars & amps keep life in balance..do it up !! that guitar is so cool..went & checked out some online stuff after your post the other dayBFT-- Ill tell ya story -------(others have heard some were here for the event when it happened )
I traded this gear (passenger seat was full too)

TBTF -- Jimmy -- of Jimmys Vintage Music-- is a Ferengi Master--as I have purchased several things he "made an exception" for me -- and normally would not have entertained that trade-- but said he knew the stuff was legit and good/working/ etc...because he has dealt with me--And you STILL got the better end of the trade for sure. The other guy 's nick name should be VICTIM!

Snag the Bandmaster. No question, no hesitation. There's nothing like vintage Fenders.my friend keeps emailing me with his 67 bandmaster & 2 x12 matching cab.,its mint..it sounds..well i dig these more than twins, thats for sure..he says i need it to fill my recent amp void..what should i do...or go spend the same money for a computer chip amp....View attachment 28612
Been researching the bandmaster...also volume is no issue..i get to play at same level live & studio at home. If its scooped like a twin,, i won't like it.Snag the Bandmaster. No question, no hesitation. There's nothing like vintage Fenders.
And if you aren't playing loud enough for it to really sing, blackface Bandmasters make a great pedal platform.
Try it out, good and loud. Only way to tell. I think the problem with Twins is, they're designed to stay clean. You can't crank one enough to make it break up unless you're playing Madison Square Garden. Bandmasters fill out pretty nicely once you get 'em up to six or so. If that's still too scooped for your preferences, for fatter American type sounds you may need a Boogie.Been researching the bandmaster...also volume is no issue..i get to play at same level live & studio at home. ended up with these & changed my amp situation immediately last few months.....we//de twin'd the PRO...been talking to my tech about it...cause am interested..he mentioned we can radicalize 1 side of it like these are...& then keep the other side clean like he been doing...but we are teetering on making the normal chan..a sneaky mid in your face Marshall style. might not need it tho cause of crossover in amp..but man its cool looking & has a real full sound. ! key thing that was done..these all are set to be usable at normal band levels..they also function so well just noodling levels..all of em..with mods ..cheaper than that new computer simulation ampTry it out, good and loud. thanks for response. you know where i am comin from on the Fenders..my amp guy has been doing it since 70's. Lil tweaks here & there & they can be a monster on 1 side & cleanest thing ever on other. I found my sound on the Super's cause its mid focused like Marshall is..have the M side of things covered but lately..found out my singer sits better on the fender rhythm guitar & has to fight with marshal a lil..that is a female voice..maybe it's too much bunched up... love em all tho. My M circuitsNice trio of Fenders.
Billy Zoom did something like that with one of my blackfaces, a '64 Bassman. He rebuilt it using the original iron with modified preamp architecture. Bass channel has an extra gain stage and is voiced for guitar frequencies (with a Mids knob hiding on the back panel) while the Normal channel is a slightly tweaked blonde-era 6G6-B circuit.
The amp looks stock and sounds fabulous. Still not a bedroom amp though.
You probably know the Bassman and the original Marshalls share a common ancestry; both are derived from the same circuit in the old RCA tube applications manual.

You my brother are doing it all correct in my bookthanks for response. you know where i am comin from on the Fenders..my amp guy has been doing it since 70's. jtm50 el 34 Black Flag spec'd with SS/Tube rec
Jmp50 el34 1987 now 2204 4 holer
Each year the gain seems to come down & the pickups are less hot..thinkthe circuits bring out pick dynamics & really reveal a good guitars tone
