Favorite Comedians

Bill Burr
Jim Jefferies
Big Jay Oakerson
Lewis Black
Ricky Gervais
Marc Maron
....dude. You and I could hang out anytime.

My list for 5 more comedians outside the legends like George Carlin:

Doug Stanhope
Christopher Titus
Patton Oswalt
Steven Wright
Trevor Noah

I used to enjoy the big names like Dave Chapelle or Jon Stewart, but their stand-ups are no longer entertainment. While I may enjoy their message, if I want to see a comedian, I don't want to be yelled at for 45 minutes with five jokes thrown in. :(

gotta watch through these when I can.

Just saw / heard this a few weeks ago.

Oh and deese guys ya know

I had a Love/Hate relationship with SCTV. On the one hand, I loved seeing the skits and loved the actors. On the other side, I was an American with one of those old big analog satellite dishes so I could pick up the Canadian TV feeds. No one at school knew wtf I was talking about. LOL

Easily my favorite was Richard Pryor. He was as raw and real as you could find. Grew up listening to his ultra offensive/blue comedy tapes as a kid lol

But also, Dave Atell is over the top funny and dark. Any Patton Oswalt live is awesome, so is Daniel Tosh or Dave Chappelle

No doubt man, and your list is another group of my favorites. I don't mention the "classics" either because I view comedy as an evolving thing (music to a certain point as well). Honestly, even the old masters like Carlin and Bruce seem very dated to me when I go back and watch now (and George hasn't been gone all that long). In comedy something may still be funny 5 years down the line but it likely won't be relevant if you know what I mean. I like to keep it at the cutting edge, and honestly no single person has had me on the floor pissing myself and having to rewind more than Bill Burr, with Jefferies a very close second.

While these fellas are not classic comedians per se, but moreso did comedic acting, I definitely give a nod to Carroll O'connor and Sherman Hemlsey as Archie Bunker and George Jefferson. I have posted it before, but one of the funniest clips of an episode I ever saw was a Jeffersons when Lionel and Jenny's engagement. I guess I can't resist posting it again. Let's just say, " This I gotta see"

Not to mention Jean Stapleton, Isabel Sanford, And MAMA Jefferson were a freaking RIOT
