Favorite body and neck wood for custom bass?

it varies from bass to bass----------
My Peavey Neck through -- when doing a string change --- first 2 strings will be UNUSABLE -- all 4 have to be on ...set to pitch and let set for 5 min then retune---the neck FLEXES that much -- conversely the Peavey T-40 laminated Maple neck--- you could lift a buick out of a ditch with and not lose tune-- string off strings on -- any tuning -- dont matter-- I set the neck the week I got it never touched it since---

remember your not dealing with forces of 6 thin little guitar strings-- -these boys can do damage if they snap!!! --

Id mount the neck then put my .......er ....wait.....sorry got distracted----

bolt her on-- string her up -- adjust as needed--
 
nope no desire for a Harley of any kind-------- unless your GIVING IT to me then I can flip it for something useful --- like HEAT FOR YOUR POOR WIFE -- good lord man --- she is frozen!
all bundled up like that -- INDOORS even! ---- the horror.........................

I feel sorry for you Northerners--- sad --- sad situation--- you know --- you dont HAVE TO STAY there..... there are lovely WARM places in Alabama -- Georgia.....Arizona..........New MehEEco .......JUST STOP MOVING TO FLORIDA ALLREADY!

Thanks Don! I do have a machinist straight edge, so I will start with that.

they dont learn unless they "F" it up and then have to FIX it -- that is where .......well MY knowledge .....of......er -- how -- NOT -- to ..---do... things comes from .......

you know--- you really want to ...........deep down ..........under the Haagen Daas and Pabst..... its brewing ......(go outside and do THAT)-- while you make out the label to send me the Peavey -- its too COLD there for it--- the T-45 can HANDLE extremes --- that lovely blue beastie cant
