Favorite bass songs and nice ones to learn.

This one is my favourite bass lines to play (it's easy to play for 2 bob players like me). I'm currently messing around with it on the SG junior (Yamaha THR10 on bass setting), trying to add in some of the guitar parts...

I was trying to think of some newish Bass work I enjoyed when I first heard it, Shinedown came to mind.
Check out the Viewing angle of this demo. I personally think it is pretty cool and easy to see string plucking as well as fretting work.

Now for a little Meddle music.

Still remember when and where I first heard the Dark Side on vinyl. RIP to my childhood buddies John P and Richard B

Otis Redding's "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay" has a really cool bass line. Then Hendrix's "Third Stone from the Sun". Have we had Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" yet?

And of course anything and everything by Free.

Andy Fraser of Free is a good example of how not playing anything can be really great as well. A fantastic player.

Another of my favorite bass songs, albeit a toughy. Geddy is so sick a player, I just feel like if I dig in, I could hone my skills to duplicate his chops pretty well since I practically know the tunes by heart.
