Hi folks! Pretty stoked!

I ride my bicycle to work every day. Takes me about 40 minutes to get there.

Well not any more!

I'm just over $1500 poorer but I'm 32Kph faster now!
I went in to the e-bike shop this morning to enquire about a conversion kit for my bike and by noon I was on the road.

I can't wait for 4:30 Monday morning.

And of course.. the pictures!FB_IMG_1534037576103.jpg FB_IMG_1534037581827.jpg FB_IMG_1534037586126.jpg

Electric pedal assist. It has 4 assist levels. Reading the manual it says that the levels are 25%, 50%, 100% and 200%. Meaning if you are on level ground, 25% would be an adequate assist level to maintain speed at an 80 rpm pedalling cadence. If you have a steep grade 200% baby!

I think the battery is a 48V / 6..6 Ah / 317Wh lithium ion (what ever that means). But I put a couple of hours on it today and I'm down to half charge.

I have it charging now. I will plug it in while I work as well- heck, the company won't care.
I'm not sure if the kit I bought has the regeneration option but I am still familiarizing myself to its features. It's a basic kit but I am so far loving it.
The bike is about 15 pounds heavier though!

I rode to my part time job this morning. I shaved 12 minutes off my 1/2 hour trip!

I freakin' love this thing!

My buddy has the same brand of e-bike but his will do 49kph. He took my bike for a ride and said it felt " sporty. "

It sure effin' is! It's a sleeper. I took the gravel bike path to work today and it was sooo much fun. I don't think the honeymoon period will wear off for a long time.!

Well that was just a tease... 2 weeks with an e-bike and I broke my frame! I was going to go over a curb when I realized I had the assist set too high. I go to toggle down but hit the throttle (it was dark out). The bike flew out from under me, I landed on my back and the bike landed on the seat and snapped the frame where the seat goes in. CRAP!!!!

Now I wait while they install the kit on my NEW bike. I had no plans on spending 700 bucks for a new bike but hey... A guy has to get to work right?

Just sitting at the pub right now eagerly awaiting the Install and bill.

Looks like Kraft dinner until next Friday!

And you are all right after the fall? Falling off your bike can be pretty nasty. I've seen several friends in hospital because of accidents...

I love that idea! I used my bike years ago when I was going to the university. The best thing was I knew if I can walk it would start. You spent very little if you compare it to a car expense. Get a few bucks ahead and the exhaust system fall off.
