External FX Loop???

Ah. I guess I don't have a need at this point to turn on and off a specific group of pedals with one stomp. Didn't realize that was what you were looking for.

I typically do not turn pedals on and off.

I mix my pedals through the amp input and FX loop. I spent weeks (literally) trying pedal configurations at Primo Rehearsal Studios just to find the right combination at extreme performance volume levels.

I want to retain my current board configuration, so I need a loop of some kind...

that won't do what you want. You would still be plugging your entire board into your input jack.

This is the Metro Amps effects loop kit. A lot of the guys here like this one. You can order it directly from Metro Amps. It comes with very thorough instructions and I would highly recommend installing it while you build your amp. Total PITA to install later which is why mine isn't installed. Luckily I don't need it at the moment.

I have found some discussions about Marshall's DSL15C on this topic. It does not have an FX loop and some people researched (I believe successfully implementing) an FX loop on it. It takes some electronics expertize to get the right tampering points to solder the loop at.

In other words, there's no such thing as an external FX loop. You can have a board like shown, and place it outside your amp. But you'll have to tamper in the circuit somewhere after its preamp and before the power amp and pull (soldered) wire to the FX loop board.

An actual "external FX loop" would require something like a "raw fx send plug" and another "raw fx return plug" so you could pull the cables out to that circuit (which then, would be in a nice box with a DC power inlet as well). And then the "ext fx box" would have another two P10 connectors acting as the actual FX loop... There's not much sense in that is there? You can just place the FX loop board within the amp, use power from the amp itself to power the board, and present outside only the FX send/return connections (that you might need to drill holes for them somewhere in the amp fuselage).
