Steve Optiz at Ghostrider Guitars rewired my Explorer recently. Changed it from '50s style wiring with 3-way toggle/Vol/Vol with a series/parallel switch for the neck pickup to modern style wiring with 3-way toggle/Vol/Tone with a coil split switch for the neck pickup. Used components already in the guitar with a full rewire and the addition of a treble bleed. Good to have a tone pot again and I don't miss having separate volume controls for neck and bridge. The Schecter has a similar arrangement except it has a 3-way blade switch instead of a toggle and an extra switch to coil split the bridge pickup if desired. And yes that is a metal pickguard from Snakebite Customs in Germany.
The toggle for the coil split on the pickguard is a cheapy from Jaycar. The Switchcraft 3-way is now in the old neck volume position and it has a master volume for both pickups. I'm not sure of the specs on the capacitor except for the fact that it is 0.022uF and poly. I had it laying around. The pots are CTS Mojo Tone ones tested as 550K. It has a Switchcraft jack. All the wiring is new
