Ever seen THESE tuners????

Guys--- you do realize the ones I LIKE I keep right ?
Fender MIM Bass.....going on year 6
Silver Burst LEs Paul---going on 8
USA PEaveys -----tend to get STUCK here....
Epiphone USA Spirit......going no where.......ever

IT is possible for me to keep Exceptional ones.....a 72 Japanese Epiphone ----is odd and rare enough to hang out for a while...

I must admit the original purchase motivation was doubling---or tripling my $$$ but.........this thing will be here awhile.....not like the Epiphone V that was 5 days ----and that was only due to a hurricane slowing me down

What about the Chibson? I would have asked about the SG Jr, but....

Those tuners have definitely been changed, they're gold and the rest of the hardware is chrome.
I'd hunt down some originals or close copies of such and plug the extra holes.
Looks like the originals had offset screw holes. I'd bet they were these, but with the 3+3 configuration.

Every time I have run across those type of tuners, they have been of very poor quality. Have you ever seen any good ones?

No Sir, not a one.
Most likely why they were changed.
They're a cheap stamped tuner with a cheaper tin cover.

Tuners work well and ACTUALLY all the hardware was gold--- the stop tail is GOLD underneath and stamped "JAPAN"

Was going to put some aged gold el cheapo pups in it and sell it off.......but---- it sounds so good.....and plays so well.....it might stay a while.

ITs ugly--- but oddly ---it works.......though I agree a new one is in order...

MIJ--check - not only MIJ 70's era Matsumoku Japan ;)

Gave her a tidy new input jack today--- cleaned pots and switch again --- all is clean-- clear and making even MORE lovely noises than before--- the postioning of the neck pup gives it a tone variant different than ANY other guitar I own.......yep --- me like.

LEts see thin neck
great frets
awesome pickups
unique tonal voice
looks dynamite
its an Epiphone
its OLD

er yep----- all the boxes.....

Added a new guitar hanger just for the new addition to the family---- with extra special protection from my Guardian Angel and the tribute to Joe Cain.
:)

Nice vintage guitar...Yo Adrian! I like the Carvin and D'Marzio pick up combo. It must real sweet. I'd keep it original as you can and just clean it up a bit. I bet it has nickle hardware on it which ages real nicely.
