ETSG infested with spammy marketeers

I don’t know. I could do the threesome thing with Strats, PRSs, and maybe SGs... :run:
It won't stop at threesomes. For the record, one of these in the picture has been replaced with five more.... I think. I gotta get them all out and take a new family pic. But three? Oh no you don't. You have been assimilated. Resistance was futile. Welcome to the world of the Borg and Ferengi

Hah, you forgot, this was my family in 1999. Many sold and more added since then. Stay tuned for new arrivals....

SG Guitars

Everything SG was known for a very nice database for the history of the Gibson SG guitar. ETSG also has a forum on the website. But a few years ago, all that precious info got sucked into Stephen Hawking's Black Hole... aka Alex. The forum remains, though. And it's going thru "changes" ...

AKA Alex as in the owner of the forum and MLP etc if I have the right LP forum that is.

Various Responses to an interesting thread:

Regarding my lovely Epiphone ES-339... do you want my new guitar boasting report, or did you prefer my
"how to replace wiring harness on a thin hollow body guitar" (hassle) thread? Or some new content discussing
tone, sustain, mods, weight, balance, P-90s, pedals, fret over binding, Epiphone vs Gibson, or the Red Star on my
ebony pick guard...

Regarding the deletion of ETSG's incredible archive and galleries... that was an ABOMINATION...
...akin to the burning of the Alexandria Library by gibbering barbarians. The place has never been the same
since. Some of us had thought to use the resources to create an interactive "Workingman's Book of the SG"
project... including individual articles on some of the Best of ETSG's awesome member guitars.

Aye well, I still have friends over there, and it's more active in some areas. it's not as populated as some other
sites I've been on where you can make a post and it's buried in an afternoon.

Regarding spam bots and trolls, I'm glad this site seems to be free of them. I was shocked to see that
virus looking behavior on ETSG and immediately clicked off. Bye-yuh... Thanks and blessings be to our administrators who
protect us innocents from sweaty & smelly webmasters inhabiting malodorous cubicles in Nowhere's ville,
trying to steal whatever we might value. I salute you. *snaps to a ten-hut, with a proper snappy salute...

I was looking for your write up on mods you did. Hardware swaps to black goodies, pot upgrades, custom pick guard etc. I have recently been added to the list of 339 owners. I had wanted a blonde 339 like yours, but I did not want a copy cat, so I got thr wine red which I also like.

I'll stick with the personalities.

I'll come up with something for you, and for fun.
I'll also want a report from you on how you like your 339. Mine's the P-90 version, but the HB version
has a lot of appeal as well. I sure do like my Epiphone... She was fine right out of the box, but responded
really well to upgrades.

I gots me the same exact geetar, loose E stuck on the pick guard and everything. Only difference is the wine red color. Frets aren't too bad, I can't feel the ends when I'm playing, but if I rub my fingers over the ends I can feel a slight drag on the corners. As I recall you changed the pots and caps? What value did you use for your caps?

FYI, I just love those two guitars you have ever so lovingly made your own.

Col, when I was looking for a Jazz Box type guitar to replace my Epi ES175 I sold awhile back I was looking at a Pre Lawsuit Ibanez 2355 copy of the 175.
While it was a beautiful and well made guitar, it was also one with a neck about as skinny as a mandolin. My clunky carpenter fingers decided to look for one with a wider fretboard.

While looking, I visited a GC and saw a beautiful ES339 I think had P90's in Pelham blue. I absolutely dig PB SG's. I kept the 339 in mind but still had more good music shops to check out. I am glad for my choice despite liking 335/339 style guitars. I wound up buying a primo Gibson ES135 in Vintage Burst with 57 Classic pups and I am very happy with that choice despite knowing the Pelham 339 would have also been a sweet sounding guitar as well.
