ETSG archives

he probably does not want to make the effort. maybe his life/job is very time consuming. or the site doesn't produce enough $ like his other ones do? I honestly don't know as I rarely even speak to him … ever! If I remember correctly that cool info section was not directly connected to the forum but was a whole separate selection which opened up to a whole area which had 5 or 6 areas within it, where all that info was.
 
Thanks Voxy, Whatever it was, it was like law cases records to a lawyer. All info one could possibly want, short of the knowledge of SG details Kris Ford had in his head. I sure dug the site as one who basically knew 0 about SG model history and variations of the past except that Carlos, Pete, Frank, Tony, Angus, Robbie all played em
 
ETSG was the first guitar forum I joined back somewhere in 2007-2009 ish. I bought my SG Classic because of that place.

In those days, people were already missing the "old days" of ETSG, back when it was still good. :p

It went through several more changes before Alex gutted it and turned it into what it is now.

I agree that this place carries on the old spirit of ETSG.

I may not be around much, but I do peek in from time to time. :victoire:

Hey I have a novel idea. How bout restoring our SG resources and historical data, catalogs and literature like we once had?

Now I know I will likely get a banned but for those who were here long enough, it is a serious sore spot, especially since I thought we were told it would be fixed a long time ago.

First forum I've ever joined too and I believe I was the 3rd member, as the forum had only been up a week or so. We could do anything we want as there was limited action due to being a new entity. Later when we had live chat room we all got together and bid up an SG to 50K over an hour after we realized there was a major flaw in the listing! We were laughing that the owner must of been shi^% in his pants watching the # go up that high. At the end of the night we all canceled our bids due to his listing error … lots of fun there during the first few years. Here's another one that was mid period … the wall of shame of members who were well @ssholes, we would take a vote to see if the offending member deserved a position on the " wall of Shame " … lemmie see what I can salvage from photobucket , hold that thought …

That's how crappy I feel from the loss."

I saw that. That was the first time I've been there in well over a year, closer to two years

Exactly correct! The forum software was separate from the SG archives. He could have replaced the forum software without ever disturbing the archives. He could have copied the whole site, moved it to another server, replaced the forum software with xenforo forum software and still had the archives available. That is his forum to do with as he pleases, this forum is ours. I took an extreme amount of caution to ensure not one post, not one picture, not one single byte of info was lost when I moved this site. It not magic or rocket science, just common sense and valuing the membership contributions to the site.

Yeah, I go once in awhile too to catch a few fellas who aren't here or who also dig SG's like I do.

I had to dig deep as all this was along a very long time ago .. Wav sent one I forgot about that I really can't post that was used when someone was a real dick, it was perfect for the situation at hand. I recalled it and the incident when he IM'd it to me a while back. Lots of fun a long time ago among a very tight group of friends
 
Man Voxy those are great. Col Mustard was the 1st person to greet me. Then I discovered more awesome guys like you, David, Kevy Nova, SG John, Kris Ford, Biddlin, SGLou to name a few.

Not only were the resources and people great, but the galleries and gear pics. Then it seemed very full and thriving until that one server change that totally train wrecked so much of the good stuff.

Don't even get me started on the photobucket fiasco they pulled.
