Back in the day tube manufacturers published the specifications of vacuum tubes in book form because the TV repair guy often made house calls and access to this sort of information was... useful. Now they're available as pixels so everyone can read them...

I have a 1942 RCA manual which is pretty cool...

But remember (especially power tubes) the manufacturers changed the design and specifications, so the manual may not match the tube.

The design of EL34 has been changed at least 3 times since the 60s.
