It just depends on if you want to and can afford to own a piece of history. I would love to own Gilmour's Black Strat. I signed up and bid on it just to say I did. I got the Christies Auction Book and my screen shot of my bid!
Snorty McCokestraw, er I mean Colts Owner Jim Irsay owns a ton of these famous guitars, including that one. He also owns Jerry Garcia's Tiger , Bob Dylan's Strat when he went electric, Gilmore's Martin used on Wish you Were Here, George Harrison's 64 SG, Kurt Cobain's Mustang from Smells Like Teen Spirit, Clapton's Martin from Unplugged, Lennon's Grestch 6120, Prince's Yellow Cloud guitar. Along with a Jackie Robinson rookie card, Ali's Championship belt from Rumble in the Jungle.

All in all, he's got over $1 Bil in collectibles. Yet, can't pay a running back on his team a competitive wage by comparison to the market or build a stadium in Indianapolis without threatening to move the team ( like his dad did before) without the city tax payers fronting the bill. Guy doesn't give zip to charity either except for a one time donation to the Catholic Church for about $5mil and then a mental health charity he operates, which his foundation gave $3 mil ( not exactly out of his pocket). Guess he was saving up to place a bid on The Fool here

My understanding it's trashed happy with my 1/1965 SG Standard same guitar but with factory
gold hardware. The last buyer paid $500.000 for the fool guitar should be interesting.
