I'd like to one day mess around and have something built in KT88s or maybe 6550s@syscokid - used 6550's in the 50 watt MV build

I was very close to getting a Vintage Modern back when they came out. Just couldn't quite pull the trigger at that time. Cool amp.I like KT88's also.
What a awesome monster tube!
Blues Breaker and Vintage Moderns.
I had the chance to play a reissue JTM 45 and that got very loud quickly with out break up. I think they need a pedal in front.
Wow, those are some big voltages! The voltages at the plates of the phase inverter and the cathode follower side of V2 are massive. Are you using modern production tubes on this amp? Then they went to the separate cathodes. Here is what is in mine.

6550's require modifications when replacing EL-34's...I like KT88's also.

I'm using Sovtek 5881's that originally came with a MIG 100. I'm not sure what little bottles are in there.Wow, those are some big voltages! The voltages at the plates of the phase inverter and the cathode follower side of V2 are massive. Are you using modern production tubes on this amp?
