I once worked for Tesla. To say i was unimpressed with their vehicle reliability would be gross understatement.
I think a positive point will be a reduction in fuel prices as more electric cars enter service.
Actually just simple supply and demand. As demand goes up….. so do prices…. That is until supply outpaces demand, in which case prices go down. Such a slippery slope.I have always been a firm believer any time the Government pushes an agenda , its in there own best interests, not yours. when it comes to certain issues this being one of them.
The fat cats at the top are filling their pockets while i speak.
I remember very well the time when the Canadian Government came out with the push to convert vehicles to propane. They were giving rebates to convert the vehicles to propane. How well did that go over? they didnt convert too many. And what happened since then. propane is more
expensive than gasoline today. Hydro costs are rising here in our country.
Majority of electric buyers will be charging their vehicles off the grid, therefore their costs and our costs will be increasing generating more money for the tax man, otherwise known as the CRA Canadian Revenue Agency .
EVs are the future, like it or not, so get used to it. Just the list of manufacturers that have given phase-out dates for gas-fueled vehicles should be all the warning we need, and once the electrics take over all the people who say they'll never change will have a hard time keeping their relics running because there will be less infrastructure available to do so. I suspect at some point there will be a carbon tax as well, and (hopefully IMO) they may phase out vehicles that are too old/dirty.
As for the issues, meh. Most of you guys are old enought to remember what utter pieces of crap gas-powered cars were in the 60s, 70s and 80s. Its really quite recent that our cars have become reliable and comforatable. But its a mature technology that reached the end of its useful lifespan. Reminds me of the state of properller-driven aircraft at the end of WW2/start of Korea - the tech reached its zenith even while it was being phased out for a newer but not yet perfected technology. Just the way it goes.
Give me a big block 60's car any day over the POS new ones,,, they are non servaciable computers on 4 wheels basically.. Freedom they just want to control the grid & shut it down..i work with Joe & Jane Public all day every day..this world is F'd by the way everybody is entitled..i say leave me alone & let me enjoy my 5 cars & 2 boats..i work hard,,,i pay to play..what i want when i want & how i want without bothering anybody. Not directed at anyone..but 10 years of public biz in the cities gone off the rails..no respect left for anything unless you work hard..pay your share & live your life..forcing electric on me or saying in the city they dont have to pay for their services & be glad we are alive...unacceptable..l..the one side has there moment right nowEVs are the future, like it or not, so get used to it. Pretty much the same here Norm.I will never have to worry about buying an electric vehicle, I will be able to drive a gas powered vehicle until the day i die...![]()

Let's be careful to avoid too much political drift here. It may be difficult to avoid...I find it difficult personally...with this topic, but just a friendly cautionary reminder...to all of us.
Thank you.Let's be careful to avoid too much political drift here. It may be difficult to avoid...I find it difficult personally...with this topic, but just a friendly cautionary reminder...to all of us.
Agreed, pretty much...Someone, seemingly, has an interest in limiting travel. EV travel in many types of inclement weather conditions is not safe. See the above picture with the generator charging the Tesla....imagine that Tesla in a blizzard, dead.I love my freedoms.
If i want to burn $100 worth of fuel on a weekend drive into Death Valley, i believe in the right to do so.
Conversely, if you want to drive an EV, then that's great too.
This is how i believe things should be.
But, the Nazi idealism of the government preaching to you what is acceptable and what is not, is the beginning of socialism.
At no time in our history have we had a more gullible and malleable population.
