I took possession of the Bench or Pillar Drill; Einhell TE-BD 750 E Expert 750W Bench Drill.
Installed the base, fitted the pillar to the base and two of us lifted the machine up onto the pillar.
Fixed it in place, as per the instructions, bearing in mind it weighs a hefty 45kg, so not easy to install on your own.
Finished installing the safety stuff and plugged it in.
No light and no revolution display.
Pressing the stop button caused the light to flash, so an intermittent connection I would think. The box it came in was a little worse for wear.
The actual machine was pristine, so no issues with that.
I removed the front cover to find loose and poorly crimped 4mm spade connectors. Replaced them and tested again. Still intermittent.
Having a closer look at the power supply board, no output from the two connectors, +3 and +5 volts DC.
Removed the board and the transformer had a broken secondary wire.
Removed the transformer, found and repaired the broken wire and replaced it into the control panel.
Powered it on and perfect.
It was that or put it back in the carton, repack it and have it replaced. I chose the easiest option, repair it as it was a minor issue.
A varied day today.
