Thank you Wav ! I was hoping for a purple but wanted to use a natural stain, hence the wine and then the beets. It is what it is and I like the way it looks. Also, I happen to be colour blind.

Who would have thought a colour blind guy would have a job painting these things.

Got my first coats of lacquer on today! Mine as polyurethane.

I love this stuff! Even though they say to apply with a brush or sponge, it sprays like a dream through my el cheapo HVLP gun.

You can call your your guitar the "Beetle Juice" guitar since you juiced up your guitar nicely. You actually did a good job of staining that guitar...look righteous!

Lots of sanding but it's almost there. I have to buy another tin of mine as to finish the job

It's looking real good Shreddy. I sort of dig the body shape and all. I know the upper fret access isn't the greatest but it looks satisfactory and adequate. I think it will look great once it's done.

Actually you can get up there rather easily. I have bevels in the cutaways and softened the neck heel ala the Alex Lifeson Les Paul Access model.

It's funny, I put some photos of this on Facebook thinking about how many people have tried using beets as wood stain. 3 people in the world. Me, and 2 of my friends!
