eSGEe mentioned that he needs a new pickguard, and it got me thinking on how many occasions I had to re-shape one. In preparation for such jobs, I made this sanding platform for my drill press. The drum sanders in various sizes are on the way

That’s pretty much what I did to make the cutouts for the Stetsbar in the pickguard on my V!
I drilled the sharper corners with a small drill bit, and used a dremmel cutting bit to do the bigger cutting. These gave me a bit of bevel to start with, finished with files, and sandpaper...then a small buffing wheel.

But a small drum sander would have been quicker than the files, for cleanup, I think.
Go for it! It was fun for me...and I didn’t even wreck the first guard I tried on. Just take your time, and you should have a blast.
