Don't get the Mini Disnortion!

I got one today from the SDOTD on MF. Right out of the box it has a hideous whistle type noise. When you run it in series it is even more terrible. On the demo the Pigtronix mini Disnortion sounds pretty good. It is well built and all but it really does stink. I called up MF and someone there told me that everyone returns it and says the same thing. This particular one is made in China also. I believe the Fat Drive I have is made here. I believe I even paid a little less for the Pigtronix Fat Drive on SDOTD. The only strange thing about the Fat Drive is the size of the box it comes in. It is a decent OD, that is why I figured besides the good demos I saw of the Disnortion, that it would turn out pretty cool. Not!! Do yourself a favor and stay away from the Pigtronix mini Disnortion.

I've had very hit-and-miss experience with Pigtronix. i like that they try to do things a little bit differently from a lot of the other makers but the results can be a bit underwhelming.

I love the sounds I get from my favorite dirt pedals- germanium fuzz face, little muff, and tube monster. But I'm getting tired paying for garbage. I'm a sucker for a cool looking pedal.
