Not a great demo. The pups sound thin, and the playing didn't help. I am sure it can be made into a great player though

Yes i noticed that as well, but with different pups, yes it could be made better than a beginners guitar. My first guitar was a Fender Strat Affinitti kit , which at that time i would say was the best starter guitar out there. Just over 7 years ago i paid the same price for that Fender kit that Donner is selling today for the exact same price today. And i would say from the 2,246 reviews from Amazon the guitar is getting good ratings.
