Dokken

I've always like his skeleton guitar that was custom made by some Hollywood special effects artist.

That's worse than no frets :sneaky::nice_guitar:and wherever the confused guy is-

I liked Ratt. They stood out from their contemporaries for the most part, but man I cannot listen to 'Round and Round' again. Good song, not the best on the album, but good...just played to death and you can't listen to "classic rock" radio for more than an hour without hearing it now.

I love the isolated track...that's what i posted

I just...can't. Not even a part of it.

I'll still listen to Ratt, but will skip this song if I'm spinning Out of the Cellar.
The irony of being so sick of it is that I always thought it was one of the weaker tunes on the album, but its the one that got hammered into our heads.

Its ok, I feel that way about barracuda by Heart. this girl I was dating when guitar hero came out had a little sister who would ALWAYS play that game and ALWAYS that song.

Totally with you on that one. Heart has some really great music but Barracuda is pretty much bottom-rung material from them. Shame one of their better songs didn't take that slot.

And while we're at it, just a quick rant about "classic rock" radio. What is it with these idiots that program those stations? Their playlist is something like 20 bands and no more than 2 songs per band...over and over and over and over and over again, ad nauseum. You'd think Led Zeppelin or the Doors only ever recorded a couple songs in their careers, and by god if I ever hear Born To Be Wild or Foxey Lady again I will gouge my ears out.

I never tire of things that I like.

I played in an Eagle's tribute (full time) for a few years and never tired of it. I was as excited on the night of my last performance as I was on the eve of my first. Same with 1980's rock & metal...

I always have to vary it up. I got so many different albums of different sub genres of metal, even got some stuff that isn’t metal.

So what’s the secret? Is it just cover bands that can make that kind of money? Picking the right venues? Because I’m seriously curious how much good quality original music can make within the same time span.

It depends on many things I am sure, but here in SoCal, there are some private party's that pay very, very well, especially in the Palm Springs/Rancho Mirage/Bighorm areas. Also, the Casinos pay very well, especially for cover and tribute bands. San Manuel's Rock-N-Brews (Gene & Paul's place) features a different tribute band every night and the pay is very good. I have a colleague in a Thin Lizzy tribute and he makes very good money in that band.

Some tributes, like 'Strange Days,' - a local Doors' tribute - really take the tribute to a new level and the members even look like the original artists.
