DOD Gunslinger

For being an inexpensive pedal this thing rocks! It is also a total quality built piece for real cheap! After checking out several demos of it, I pulled the trigger on one. It is the same built and quality as the DOD 250 Preamp which is another cool pedal by Digitech DOD. I have only ran the Gunslinger at 9 volts so far. I will check it out with 18 volts coming up soon. I've read that DOD fired their R & D people, including their main creator guy named Tom Cram. I feel that both DOD and Digitech have always delivered some excellent products, which are also very affordable. I have a number of used FX series pedals from DOD which are all very cool. I just felt like sharing that.

I have that one too, seems like a clearance sell off.
It is built well.
It has its own vibe; it is ok but I havent really run it through a thorough shakedown yet.

I like it. Amazon has them for $32!! I need to find room!

That's the same deal I got! Today I'm super busy but, early tomorrow I will try it out getting pushed by 18 volts on both my SR and DR. I'm also curious about what it sounds like with a Marshall through the clean channels ( green channels ). I'm bummed out about Digitech/DOD possibly getting ousted by the big boys who own Digi/DOD. Today is a super important legal/money day. I have to go talk to an attorney at 3 PM.

I was reading the Amazon reviews, and I would not do that. They said that DOD recommends 9-12V, even though it CAN handle 18V. Check out the instructions.

Please explain again. I am attorney, but can give friend advice only since I am not licensed in CA

For the first question I'll put up a post:
Tom Cram and the entire Digitech/DOD team fired: A double whammy! - gearnews.com

For the second question: I'm doing a probate thing with my Father and sister with his home/assets. Neither of us have any children so we have to come up with other family members from both sides to inherit in case Betty and I both kick the bucket and, Dad is still around. Her and I also need to get on his living trust before we can be put into his financial accounts. Right now I do his checking for him and he just signs. After the attorney does her thing, both my sister and I will be able to write checks and sign. I'm still in charge of that though. I do fill her in on anything I do which is out of anything ordinary in the banking and checking part. My sister and I bump heads but, I would never burn or cross her. The same with her.

By the way, I did not know DOD recommends 9 to 12 volts. I did not get instructions with either of my two modern DOD pedals I got. I wonder if you can run 12 or 18 on the 250 Preamp as well? I'll try to look it up.

I'll run 12 volts with the Gunslinger and see how it sounds. It sounds pretty cherry even with 9 volts.

Thanks for the link.

You seem to have all bases well in hand. Just want to make sure my forum brothers know I will be there when called.

Have fun with the pedal!

Update
I'm on the fence with the Gunslinger. Sometimes it is meh, sometimes it sounds Really good.
I have to continue trying it stacked with OD, fuzz etc.
I dont have a ton of time on it.

Then I play the RAT for a bit and I keep thinking thats the sound I want from the gunslinger.
I need to focus on its tones and decide if it stays or not.

Its not really fair I try to get other bands tones and tend to judge based on that.
I have started to keep in mind what I am looking for or from what perspective; trying get a specific tone, or just playing the thing and sampling what it can do.
I need to try it with different amps too.

Iti s a solid well made unit.
The clearance sales continue:

If you get the chance, check out the DOD preamp OD 250. I myself like the Gunkulator, I might be spelling it wrong. For the price the Gunslinger is a pretty good pedal. Different amps and guitars will make a difference with pedals for sure.
