I myself, like that... . Assuming that was a proper representation of Djent, which I've never heard of that term, I actually enjoyed the guys shredding skills. I wish I had the discipline and fluidity to shred like that. I don't care for the Djent style, but the shredding... Hell yeah... :dood:

Another couple of Hell yeahs:
Grace Slick... saw her as the Jefferson Starship, 1982?, at the UCLA Royce Hall. Beautiful venue inside, and that incarnation of the Starship was an excellent band. But Grace... what a powerful voice with that distinct vibrato of hers. She would make my toes curl, with goosebumps city, and so much wanted to be dominated by her... at least for a whole 5 minutes... What? TMI?

2nd Hell yeah:
Ann Wilson of Heart, early 80s, Universal Amphitheater, yada-yada... Ann made me...uhm... Oh no... gotta go...

Annie Haslam used to live just along the road from me in the early days of Renaissance. Really nice person and a stupendous singer. But she and the band ran into problems one evening when their sound man wasn't available and the guy from - I think King Crimson stood in. He mixed way too loud for a folk-rock band that didn't use ear plugs. They were a bit deaf for days after.

The Djent guy demonstrates a lot of discipline in his skills, it's just not my thing....

I can kinda see the appeal in djent, but like you guys, it's not really my thing. But I did grow an understanding of why 8 string guitars exist now...

As for shred, It depends on my mood. There are times I really like listening to all the sweep picking and then other times I'd rather listen to the final solo of comfortably numb by Pink Floyd. But for really heavy riffs, can't beat Black Sabbath, love Zakk Wylde too for some simple bone crunching riffs on a six string
