Distortion Recommendations

Looking for a distortion with high headroom ...
It's a contradiction.
If it had high headroom, there would be no distortion.

But what you can do is look for cleaner sound when the guitar volume is low.
And good over-diving when the guitar volume is high.
To me, that's a big factor: how well the sound cleans up when the guitar volume is low.

If it doesn't clean up, it doesn't appeal to me.
But that's the problem with many modern amps is they don't clean up so well...

Interesting...how do you feel about Treble Bleeds???

Ok
Well, I went a little crazy last night and made a bunch of lowball offers.

So here's the first one that was accepted.

Let's see what else has been buzzed purchased!

That looks like a nice one. Along with the Fulldrive 2, I have a first version of the ‘69 Pedal in Grey. It does the Fuzzface thing real well. It was the first pedal to take me down the boutique rabbit hole. Also got the OctaFuzz. I really like the fuzz generated by that one.

Someone mentioned you have a Sabbadius Funky Vibe when I posted the Pedal Pawn Gypsy Vibe, and I have to admit I almost pulled the trigger on one this week even at upwards of $500 for either option. Holy :poo: those things sound incredible.

Have to keep myself grounded, but holy :poo: still....

It does sound awesome. I bought it after Steve sent me an IM to try to find one. I think I got the last one anywhere on the internet at the time.

Mine is the early Honey Vibe version. It does excellent Gilmour and early Hendrix sounds.

The big difference between the Funky Vibe and my Vibe Machine and Fulltone DejaVibe 2, is that it sounds great with humbuckers. A friend came over the house and we took turns playing my Flying V and a Strat while the other tweeked knobs. It is definitely a very nice pedal.

I’m shut off of pedals until I learn to get the most out of that, my Downer Prince Boonar (Echorec), and Strymon El Capistan.

I have the Vibe-Machine and the Sabbadius Funky Vibe and the Prescription Electronics Vibe-Unit hands down the Funky-Vibe is the most musical of the bunch
they all sound good also the Funky-Vibe has a preamp you can switch on and off and operates on the proper 24 volts as the originals.
