I'm the proud owner of a guitar pedal I got a few years ago that I absolutely love. It's called the Digitech Bad Monkey tube overdrive pedal which I got for $50 brand new! This pedal has a metal casing and is very durable. I think it also has a true by-pass and an extra output for your mixer board. It is made in China but I would put it up there with any boutique pedal.

What I love about this pedal is the sound and how much variety of tones you can get. The distortion or overdrive is like southern-fried rock 'n' roll and you can get some real nice classic rock sounds from this unit. It doesn't handle death metal very well but it covers all other categories. It can also be used as a booster pedal for another distortion or overdrive pedal. You can really shape the EQ with the 2 inner knobs which really adds to the flavour of your tone.

Here's a video demo below of the Bad Monkey pedal and it is something I would highly recommend to anyone who's looking for another guitar pedal and something different. It's well worth the money.

I got two of them Black,one i bought used a couple years back at Guitar Center for 20$ like new and i loved it so much i found a new in box one on ebay i bought.Its the only one i use.I got a Fulltone 69 i like to but the rest just sit on the shelf collecting dust

I got two of them also. I purchased the second one to see if it sounded different from the first. It did not. They sound nice. I got both of them used. In this series of pedals they have one called the Hot Head, which is a knock off of the Boss DS-1. I feel it sounds even better than a DS-1, which I also have two of. As we all know, the Bad Monkey is a knock off of the Ibanez Tube Screamer. The Monkey has an extra bass control many like.
 
DI bought one a year ago maybe longer. The Tube Screamer what the big competitor is and the Bad Monkey is pretty much the same. The Bad Monkey less money so I went with it. I never had the high price speed but trying it and I couldn't tell the difference. One has an extra knob I think and more knobs and stuff blows my skirt up. I hope I got the right one.
 
Some times turning it back to the amp helps for a new situation.
Hold the phone Black woolly woolly I just found an unopened case under the green house steps. How on earth? I have a lot of them.

Coincidentally I have both the BOSS Distortion DS-1 pedal in orange and the BOSS Super Distortion SD-1 pedal in yellow which I tried in series with the Bad Monkey. I plugged my guitar first into the BM and then the SD-1. I got some really nice classic rock sounds from it plugged into my Fender Twin Reverb amplifier. Then I replaced the SD-1 pedal with the orange DS-1 which I did a mod on by disconnecting one of the diodes on the circuit board and now the tone control is more usable. I got a really great rock tone with this combo and I guess the BM was like a booster which gave a lot of presence.

I also dig the East River Drive for the following reasons:

1.) Great sounding TS-808 clone with some additional slight bass on it. It is a good bass not one which muddies up.
2.) I lived and learned to speak English back in the 60s next to the East River in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York.
